Natalie Merchant....amazing!
I've been going to see the dear NM since 10,000 maniacs in the 80's. Her weird twirling stage presence hasn't changed much but her appearance has. Her natural grey hair is down below her butt and is quite a statement when she came on stage.
The remarkable thing about the show were the arrangements of her songs played by a world class real band....and of course her delivery of pivotal vocals. The strings brought much to the tension building of many songs and at one point I even cried during Life is Sweet. I loved this show. She brought on some guy to pitch his activism and this was not a bother. It was a long evening of song and I loved every song...except the Motherland stuff. This period in her career has not been appealing to me, so it was a good time to go use the facilities and check out the merch.
